For sale or auction is this Vintage 1962 Rocky and Bullwinkle Lunchbox and Thermos. This is a very nice display kit. The front and the reverse panels both feature the four main characters of the television show that ran from 1959 through 1964 on ABC and then NBC. Rocket (“Rocky”) J. Squirrel , Bullwinkle J. Moose, Boris Badenov, and Natasha Fatale. Unfortunately, The producers of the lunchbox and thermos decided not to include the other main character on either the lunchbox or the thermos, which, of course is Fearless Leader. Boris Badenov doesn’t disappoint however on any of the graphics on either the box or the thermos. On the front and back panel of the box and the thermos, he is seen poised to deflate the basketball that Bullwinkle and Rocky are perched upon. On the bottom panel Boris is setting up a moose trap for Bullwinkle. On the front right side panel, he is ousted to strike a match that he intends to use to create a “hot foot” for Bullwinkle. On the front left side panel, he is poised to set off a pistol to distract Bullwinkle from completing a successful golf shot.The front side of the lunch box has five micro scratches. Three appear over Bullwinkle's ears. Two other half-inch scratches appear on Boris' shirt. there are some surface scrapes along the top border. Most of the side panels are in great shape with clear, bright graphics and no scrapes, scratches, paint loss.The back side of the lunchbox has one 1/2 " microscratch and one 2" scratch to the righ of Natasha's hair. Between them, there is a 1/4" vertical micro scratch in the middle of Bullwinkle's body. There is a 3/4" line of paint loss on Rocky's tail and a tiny bit of paint loss on Boris' overcoat. The thermos has two dime-sized spots of oxidation/paint loss on Bullwinkle's chest and a blank area between Rocky and Boris. There is a 1/4" vertical scratch at the bottom of Bullwinkle's nose. The inside of the lunchbox is absolutely pristine! No scratches, paint loss, oxidation, dents dings or any other defects. All in All, this lunchbox is in very nice condition. I have discounted this kit greatly to account for all of the defects I have listed. It is a tremendous bargain and a great investment as the rarity of this box will cause it to appreciate greatly in the future. If you have any questions, please message me.
