Item Description: BULLWINKLE TELSTAR THEME VINYL LUNCHBOX AND METAL/GLASS THERMOS from King Seeley Thermos 1963. This super rare R-9 lunchkit is based on the long-running cartoon series. This is the 2nd KST vinyl kit - the first being Bullwinkle ballooning from 1962 - with this kit the more rare of the two. The box features Bullwinkle J. Moose in his “Space Peace Corps” spacesuit on another world saving a couple little alien friends (named Gidney and Cloyd) from the evil Boris. Wonderfully designed by KST freelancer Nick LoBianco (of Peanuts, Green Hornet, Get Smart and Yellow Submarine fame) the sides have Rocky on his space capsule and Peabody with his rocket. The tall thermos features Rocky and Bullwinkle out in space. An exceptional example of this extremely HTF cartoon-themed kit – especially in this amazing condition - and the nicest on Ebay in a long time! Condition: Box and thermos are complete and correct. Artwork on front and side panels are beautiful and vinyl panels are clean and glossy throughout. All tight and square and solid and with only a few tiny rubbings - exceptionally clean for these early 60's vinyls. The only tears typically found on the hinge points are only found where the lid meets the box - very small on both sides. Metal hardware in good working order and in nice shape. Inside of box is clean overall with some light dis-coloration - with no previous owner markings. Box in overall Excellent Plus C-8.5 condition. Thermos decals are very clean and glossy throughout with no dents and no rattles when shaken and a nice shiny bottom - in overall Near Mint C-9 condition. From my personal collection – stored carefully in a cool, dry, smoke-free room away from sunlight.
