eBay Item Description: PLAYBALL LUNCHBOX AND METAL/GLASS THERMOS by King Seeley Thermos 1969. This Rare R-6 lunchkit was issued for two years in 1968 & 1969. Although both had identical artwork from KST freelancer Nick LoBianco (of Schultz, Get Smart and Yellow Submarine fame), the first box was the official licensed Major League Baseball (MLB) version and thus has the MLB logo. This box was reissued as the "Play Ball" version the following year without the MLB logo - as KST lost their license with MLB after 1968 and had to reissue this lunchbox as a generic baseball version. Making this Lunchkit ever rarer is the spinner and all four “players” for the magnetic game on the back of the Box are here and ready for the game! So "Play Ball"! Condition: Box and thermoses are complete and correct (including the original wire thermos holder). Box lithos are clean and glossy throughout with all panels in very nice shape with just a few tiny blemishes. Very light rim wear on front - a tad heavier on back and bottom. No corner dents or dimples. Metal hardware is nice and shiny. Inside of box is very clean with a few light rubbings - and no previous owner markings. Box in overall strong Excellent Plus C-8.5 condition. Thermos lithos are clean and vibrant with no dents or dimples rattle when shaken - with nice shiny bottom - in overall strong Excellent Plus C-8.5 conditions. Magnetic game spinner is complete along with all four pieces w/magnets intact. From my personal collection – stored carefully in a cool, dry, smoke-free room away from sunlight.
