I it was made in 1958 by American Thermos Co. This is a very colorful box with great graphics in great condition especially considering it's age. The colors are rich and the surface is shiny. It has some minor surface scrapes and scratches as expected. The top opens and closes great and latches work great. The inside is overall very clean.The thermos is in excellent condition and looks practically new with only tiny flaws. The colors are rich and the surface is shiny. The bottom and metal underneath the cup are still super shiny. The interior appears intact. This is a "RARE - VINTAGE" 1958 "Chuck Wagon" domed metal lunch box with matching thermos, complete-by Aladdin. Both lunchbox and thermos are in very good condition for age--over 61 years!!! Shows typical wear from use and age, but not bad; see photos. Colors are still vibrant and clear in the graphics. Someone wrote their name on the inside of the lid. eBay Item Description: CHUCK WAGON DOME LUNCHBOX AND THERMOS from Aladdin Industries 1958. This very rare R-7 dome was the second suck designs by the industrial designer genius of Bob Burton, following his first dome masterpiece for Aladdin Buccaneer. He was also the creator of the first fully lithographed Hoppy box for Aladdin in 1954. Anyway, enough about Bob, this is one of my all-time favorite domes with a covered wagon being defended from an Indian attack where you can see “all the way through” and both sides. The bottom features a beautiful scene of the wagons being rounded up at the end of a hard day's ride. The thermos features a little fun and dancing around the campfire in the evening. A classic Americana western design from the man who created the Kentucky Fried Chicken logo. Nicely done Bob! Condition: Box and thermos are complete and correct (including original wire thermos holder). Lithographed domed box panels are clean and glossy throughout with just the lightest of rubbings. Very light rim wear on front - and clean litho on bottom panel 9 normally the most abused with these older dome boxes). No corner dents or dimples. Inside of box is also very clean with no prior owner markings – in overall strong Excellent C-8 condition. Thermos lithos are also very clean with no dents or dimples or rattles when shaken – also in strong Excellent Plus C-8.5 condition. From my personal collection – stored carefully in a cool, dry, smoke-free room away from sunlight.
